Hi all. I'm new here. I live near Mt. Baker am on a budget and looking to get back into cross country skiing. Yeah, it is totally ridiculous that I live so close to the snow and have spent most of my winters complaining about the rain. I'll spare you the boring details. Now I've been renting some gear and getting out even just for sledding and the lust for the outdoors is getting to me.
Does anybody know where I could find good used gear? Track skis would be fine for now. I'd be willing to learn telemark if I had cool patient peeps to practice with. I can trade Professional Massage for gear as well. Also thinking about building a sauna for friends to sweat in after a cold day. Only five minutes from North Fork Brewery!

I just joined this tribe, in part with the intention of getting info and/or opinions on poles.

I'd like to get some that are adjustable, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for. Are regular hiking poles a realistic option? Any brands you've had good or bad luck with? I think I want to find some with snap locks instead of twist-locks. Any opinion there?
